NIGC attorney says more tribes restructuring their gaming debt

More and more tribes are restructuring their debt, an attorney for the National Indian Gaming Commission said.

The NIGC has reviewed 25 contracts this year alone, associate general counsel Michael Gross said. Tribes have refinanced $400 million in debt as a result of the recession, he said.

Gross spoke at a conference of the Native American Finance Officers Association in New Jersey on Wednesday.
