Manzanita Band still planning off-reservation casino near Mexico

The Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation in California is still working on an off-reservation casino near the U.S. -Mexico border.

The tribe is working with the Calexico on the project. Plans call for a 459,261 square-foot casino, a 400-room hotel, retail space, restaurant space, office space and other development on 60 acres.

The tribe will pay the city $2 million a year to address the impacts of the casino.
