Gaming company cites 'harsh economic conditions' in California

A gaming company that manages a tribal casino in California says business is still tough.

Lakes Entertainment reported a drop in revenues and profits in the first half of 2010. Some of the loss was attributed to the Red Hawk Casino, owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians.

“The Red Hawk Casino continues to face challenges in its market due to the harsh economic conditions in California," CEO Lyle Berman said in a press release.

The Shingle Springs Band opened the casino in December 2008.
