Arizona tribes see some hope as patrons return to gaming facilities

The Arizona Department of Gaming reported a decline in tribal gaming revenues but it appears patrons are slowly returning to casinos.

The state's share of tribal revenues fell by 3 percent in the last quarter. That's an improvement over the 3.5 percent drop in the first quarter and a 13 percent decline in the fourth quarter of 2009.

"There is hope," Sheila Morago, the executive director of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association, told The Arizona Republic in response to the latest figures.

Several tribes have unveiled new casinos or are undergoing expansions.
