Gun Lake Tribe won't give opening date for casino underway
Friday, June 18, 2010
The Match-E-Be-Nash- She-Wish Band of
Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan, also known as the Gun Lake Tribe, won't give an opening date for its casino, a spokesperson said.
The tribe broke ground on the Gun Lake Casino last September. Officials predicted a Fall 2010 opening but that has slipped indefinitely as the tribe negotiates a $160 million to finish the project.
"Target opening dates used for financing purposes are conservative estimates. We do not have a specific opening date at this time," spokesperson James Nye told WOOD-TV.
Bloomberg News had reported a February 2011 opening in a story published yesterday.
