The board in charge of distributing gaming revenues from the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan met today.
The FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board approved $351,383 in requests from local governments. But it asked for more information about $182,978 in order to make sure the money is directly caused by the FireKeepers Casino or the reservation.
The tribe's Class III gaming compact calls for 2 percent of slot machine profits to be shared with the community. The tribe's first payment to the fund was $1.93 million, twice what was anticipated.
