Anti-casino group says more oppose Guidiville Band plan

A group called Stop the Mega Casino says more and more people are opposing the casino sought by the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians.

The group released a poll that says 48 percent oppose $1.2 billion Point Molate Resort. That's up from 38 percent who opposed it in a prior poll.

Stop the Mega Casino is funded by non-Indian card clubs. The group has engaged in a mass media campaign to drive up opposition to the Guidiville project.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has released a draft environmental impact statement and environmental impact report for the casino.
