The Wyandotte Nation has reached a Class III compact for its gaming facility in Kansas.
The tribe operates Class II games at the 7th Street Casino in downtown Kansas City. The deal allows for the expansion of the facility to include slot machines.
"The State has found a responsible approach to maintaining the integrity of gaming in Kansas as the Wyandotte Nation upgrades their casino,” Gov. Mark Parkinson (D) said in a press release. “I am pleased to help reach this agreement which will bring long-lasting benefits to the tribe, Kansas City, Kansas, Wyandotte County and the state.”
The compact will be submitted to the Kansas Legislature for approval.
