A Canadian investment firm has spent $2 million to promote a non-Indian casino in Oregon, the Associated Press reports.
Clairvest Investment Group Inc. is the sole donor to the campaign for
Measure 75. The group would the primary investor in the non-Indian casino if it's approved by voters.
"They don't have Oregon values in mind. They don't live in Oregon communities," Justin Martin, a spokesman for the Oregon Tribal Gaming Alliance, told the AP.
Tribes in Oregon have spent $560,000 against the measure, which appears on the November 2 ballot.
