Gaming revenues at non-Indian casinos in Nevada have declined in 30 of the last 37 months and one industry leader says the economy isn't solely to blame.
"I can’t think of another market anywhere in the United States that’s been hit as hard as Northern Nevada by the spread of Native American gaming," Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., the president and chief executive of the American Gaming Association, told The New York Times.
Tribes in California have been expanding their facilities and offering alternatives to Nevada.
