The Mashpee Wampanoag
Tribe of Massachusetts is reportedly considering a Class II casino.
The tribe is negotiating to buy a 300-acre site in the city of Fall River for $21 million. If the land is taken into trust, it could be used for a Class II facility since state lawmakers haven't approved casino-style gaming.
The deal for the land, however, has not been finalized. Some city council members say the city's development authority hasn't done a good job about keeping the public in the loop.
