The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington isn't worried about economic problems facing its gaming partner, the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut.
“They are still committed to our project,” Cowlitz spoksperson Phil Harju told The Columbian. “And we’re still waiting on the federal government to act.”
The Bureau of Indian Affairs published a final environmental impact statement in favor of the casino project.
But the Bush administration never made a final decision and nothing has happened since late 2008.
The Mohegan Tribe has written off $8.6 million, a third of its investment in the project, the Columbian reported.
