Rancheria of California hopes the Bureau of Indian Affairs makes a decision on its proposed casino by November.
The comment period closed on Tuesday for the environmental impact
statement for the project. Plans call for a casino on a 40-acre site in Yuba County.
If the BIA agrees to place the land in trust, the tribe still needs to negotiate a Class III gaming compact with the state.
