The Sokaogon Chippewa Community has been in discussions for an off-reservation casino in Wisconsin, The Sheboygan Press reported.
Officials in Sheboygan reached out to the tribe, whose reservation is about 165 miles away. Mayor Bob Ryan says talks are "ongoing" although he declined to discuss specifics.
The plan would apparently involve the tribe taking over a site from Kohler Co. The site is near the Blue Harbor Resort and Convention Center.
Chairman Garland McGeshick declined to comment on the casino talks.
