The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation of Connecticut will face a union vote at its casino after failing to appeal a National Labor Relations Board ruling.
The tribe said it would challenge a decision to allow an election among bartenders, beverage servers and related workers at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
But the NLRB scheduled a July 31 vote after the deadline passed without an appeal.
The United Food and Commercial
Workers wants to represent about 360 employees at the casino.
The union previously tried to organize under tribal law but the effort failed due to the way non-votes were counted as "no" votes. The tribe has since changed the method.
