The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is interested in Ohio but is not actively pursuing a casino at this time, Chief Glenna Wallace said.
"Those are our homelands and of course we're interested,'' Wallace told The Akron Beacon Journal.
The tribe signed deals with several communities for potential casinos several years ago. The effort faltered after the tribe lost its land claim in federal court.
''You have many Ohio citizens who want Indian gaming in Ohio, and we are appreciative of that," Wallace told the paper.
