Cherokee Nation plans to open casino event center in fall

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma will open an events center at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa this fall.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment CEO David Stewart said the Joint Tulsa should be finished by October. The $20 million, 45,000-square-foot facility will feature music acts, boxing, mixed martial arts tournaments, comedy shows and more.

"You can't have Hard Rock without music," Stewart told The Tulsa World.

The venue has a seating capacity of 2,700.
