Nottawaseppi Huron Band opens clinic for casino workers

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan opened a health clinic for employees of the FireKeepers Casino. The 766 square-foot facility is located in the back of the casino. A nurse practitioner will be on duty 40 hours a week and a physician will be available if needed. "Health is first and foremost to natives," said human resources director Peggy Houston at the dedication ceremony, The Battle Creek Enquirer reported. "We're always looking at how we can improve those services." The casino opened in August 2009. Get the Story:
