Jacob Coin, a member of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona, has been appointed to the gaming law advisory council at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, law school.
Coin will help the law school expand its curriculum to include more Indian policy issues such as tribal governance, tribal government gaming law and economic development. He will help develop a specific course on tribal gaming law.
Coin, who has lectured at the law school, serves as executive director of public affairs for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California. He previously served as executive director of the California Nations Indian Gaming Association, as executive director of the National Indian Gaming Association and was the founding executive director of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association.
“I am honored and privileged at the opportunity to work with the nation’s most prominent gaming law school in expanding its tribal law curriculum,” Coin said in a press release.
