Seminole Tribe plans for Hard Rock casino in Atlantic City

The Seminole Tribe of Florida plans to build a Hard Rock casino in Atlantic City if New Jersey lawmakers pass a bill that allows for smaller facilities.

The tribe said it will build a $300 million casino and hotel on the boardwalk. The hotel would only need a minimum of 200 rooms if the bill passes. Currently, state law requires hotels in Atlantic City to have a minimum of 500 rooms.

"We are intrigued by the newly proposed legislation, which makes entering the marketplace more manageable," Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen said in a press release. "Despite current headwinds, Atlantic City remains the country's second-largest gaming market and would be an exciting location for a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino."
