The Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians of California is using the sun to keep its casino cool.
The tribe operates a $8 million, 1-megawatt solar plant on the reservation. The system is used to power the air-conditioning system at the Harrah’s Rincon Casino.
“It’s a big event for the tribe,” Chairman Bo Mazzetti told The San Diego Union-Tribune.
