The Kansas Lottery approved a contract for a state-owned casino on Wednesday that depends on plans by the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma.
The tribe wants to use 10 acres in Park City for an off-reservation casino. But the Bureau of Indian Affairs has yet to make a decision on the land-into-trust application after more than 10 years.
Regardless, the developers of the Chisholm Creek
Casino Resort are worried that the tribe's plans could affect the facility. The contract ties Chisholm Creek's size, number of games and amenities to the tribe's casino.
