The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is still trying to line up other California tribes for an Internet poker venture.
The tribe wants to create an online poker consortium with card clubs. But the idea continues to generate opposition, mainly from the California Tribal Business Alliance.
So far, no lawmaker has stepped forward to back the proposal. But Internet poker will be the subject of a hearing before the Senate Governmental Organization Committee on February 9.
