The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation of Connecticut is moving forward with plans for a casino in Pennsylvania but is open to other partners, an executive said.
The tribe put money into Foxwoods Philadelphia in anticipation of managing the facility. But other options are being considered, the president of the Foxwoods Development Company said.
"When this was conceived, it was anticipated that the Foxwoods Development Co. would be developer and operator," Gary D. Armentrout told The Norwich Bulletin. "But both of those are now subject to negotiation, depending on who the investor is and how much they put in.
Armentrout disputed a news report that said the tribe lacked "the wherewithal to carry forward this kind of venture.”
