Twenty-Nine Palms Band unveils $52M casino renovation

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians of California unveiled a $52 million renovation of the Spotlight 29 Casino on Thursday.

The tribe opened the facility 15 years ago. The casino now boasts a 150,000 square-foot gaming floor and a four-level parking structure.

“It was a bold move because of these current economic times,'' Chairman Darrell Mike told The Palm Springs Desert Sun. “But we decided to go through with the expansion. We couldn't not finish it. It was important to us to create a whole new look.”
