The Skokomish Tribe of Washington is closing the doors to the Lucky Dog Casino today. General manager Nick Phillips said the casino sees most of its business in the summer. But the recession took its toll and the tribe decided to close the facility for the winter, and maybe for good. "It wasn’t strong enough to push us through the winter,” Phillips told The Olympian of the past summer. About 120 people, 10 percent of them Native American, lost their jobs due to the closure.
