The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York is jumping back into the Catskills casino game.
The tribe's plans for an off-reservation casino were rejected by the Bush administration. Tribal leaders are hopeful things will change under President Barack Obama and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
"We have had several meetings with Department of Interior officials and believe that the new administration will do the right thing and overturn the earlier decision," Chief Monica Jacobs said in a press release, The Plattsburg Press-Republican reported.
The tribe will ask its members whether they want to pursue a casino at the Monticello Gaming and Raceway.
