The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians won't allow health inspectors in Calhoun County, Michigan, inspect the eateries at the FireKeepers Casino. The tribe instead hired RockCity Food Safety to train employees and inspect the five restaurants at the facility. The company will hold the casino to the same standards as the state. Under the tribal-state compact, tribes can hire inspectors of their choice but most post signs that inform visitors that their eaters are not inspected by the state.
