A handful of towns in North Carolina are moving to restrict video poker even though a state court overturned a law that banned the game.
The State Legislature outlawed video poker in 2006 but exempted the Eastern Band of Cherokee
Indians. Judge Howard Manning Jr. said the law violates Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act.
Several towns have developed ordinances to limit the game in response to the decision.
