Shakopee Tribe loans $78M for casino projects

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota is helping two tribes with casino projects.

The tribe is loaning $48 million to the Stockbridge Munsee Band of Mohican Indians in Wisconsin. The money will be used to add a 105-room hotel, administrative space, gaming space and two restaurants to the North Star Mohican Casino.

Another $30 million is being loaned to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The money will be used to add more hotel rooms, an indoor pool, underground parking spaces, banquet and convention space, administrative offices and laundry facilities to the Prairie Knights Casino and Resort.
