Connecticut tribes team up to promote casinos

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes have teamed up for the first time to promote their casinos.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe hope the marketing campaign will bring more people to their casinos. Both tribes have seen gaming revenues fall due to the economic recession.

"The economy has not been kind to our industry and the idea of marketing Connecticut together is a good one,” Mitchell Etess of Mohegan Sun told Hotel Interactive.

The "Two Worlds Beats One City" campaign targets gamblers who might otherwise go to Atlantic City in New Jersey. The tribes launched PlayCTCasinos to promote the area.
