Cachil Dehe Band lays off 42 casino employees

The Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians has laid off 42 employee at its casino in northern California.

The layoffs represent nearly 10 percent of the workforce at the Colusa Casino Resort. "There is not a second wave of cuts that's anticipated," marketing director Don Kennedy told The Marysville/Yuba City Appeal-Democrat.

The tribe completed a $20 million expansion of the casino in 2006 and is part of a lawsuit over the number of slot machines allowed at tribal gaming facilities.
