The United Auburn Indian Community of California expects to complete work on a casino expansion project in mid-2010.
The tribe started work on the Thunder Valley Casino last year but stopped construction due to the downturn in the economy. The project's back on track although the hotel portion been downsized and some components, like the performing arts center, were eliminated.
Construction resumed last month amid news that the tribe will lay off about 100 casino employees.
