Gaming compact for Seminole Tribe up for final vote

A Class III gaming compact for the Seminole Tribe faces a final vote in the Florida Legislature today.

If approved, it will go to Gov. Charlie Crist (R) for his approval. Tribal leaders must weigh in as well.

The deal preserves slot machines and the card games that the tribe has been offering under a disputed compact. But the tribe will have to remove blackjack and other table games from three of its casinos, leading some to worry about jobs and revenues.

"Under any scenario, I would doubt that any employees would lose their jobs," a spokesperson said in response to the concerns.
