Nottawaseppi Huron Band readies first casino

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians will open Michigan's 22nd casino this summer.

The FireKeepers Casino is located along a major highway. It will feature machines, table games and poker tables and five dining options.

"This gives us income to provide things for our community," Treasurer Jamie Stuck told Central Michigan Life.

The tribe began work on the facility after an anti-gaming group lost a land-into-trust lawsuit. The tribe was recognized by an act of Congress in 1995.
