Navajo Nation boosts slot machines at casino

The Navajo Nation is already expanding its first casino, just a few months after opening the facility.

The tribe added 135 new slot machines to the Fire Rock Navajo Casino near Gallup, New Mexico. That brings the total number of machines to nearly 700.

"We just don't want our guests to be waiting in lines," marketing manager Rhonda Ray told The Farmington Daily Times. "The number (of patrons) has gone up, so we decided to buy new games. We don't want our guests to go elsewhere."

The casino opened last November. Revenues have exceeded expectations.

"We're really happy with what we have here with the design, the atmosphere, the employees," Ray said.
