Connecticut bill seeks expanded liquor sales

The Connecticut Legislature will debate a bill that allows 24-hour liquor sales at the state's two tribal casinos.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell (R) and Republican lawmakers say expanded liquor sales will help the economy. They expect an extra $5 million in revenues.

Democrats are skeptical and say 24-hour sales pose a safety threat. Currently, tribes just shut down their liquor at 1am on Sunday through Thursday nights and 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
