Former Congressman James A. Traficant Jr. (D), who just got out of federal prison after serving seven years on bribery and racketeering charges, is backing a "tribal" casino somewhere in Ohio.
Traficant started a new business and is working with the Tribal Associates Group of Provo, Utah and the Indigenous Tribal Affiliates of Native America to build a $100 million casino.
"This is a very worthy project,” said Traficant, The Youngstown Business Journal reported. "It’s not just a casino, but it will be a resort complex as well."
The Indigenous Tribal Affiliates do not have federal recognition. Traficant said the group is an amalgamation of Native Americans.
