Over 2,700 people were evacuated from a casino owned by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe on Wednesday in response to a bomb threat that turned out to be fake.
The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort received the threat at about 2pm. The caller said a bomb would go off at 5pm.
But after a sweep of the facility, tribal, state and federal authorities found “absolutely nothing," spokesperson Frank Cloutier told The Saginaw News. “In today’s reality, if this person is caught, they are going to be charged federally.”
The casino reopened early this morning. Hotel guests were moved to another property for the night.
