The United Auburn Indian Community of California is busy working on an expansion of the Thunder Valley Casino.
The project includes a 15-story hotel, the tallest in Placer County, and a parking structure. A part of the parking structure will open this month, with the entire project to be completed in July 2010.
As part of the expansion, the tribe spent nearly $1 million on a new ladder truck that will be able to reach the higher floors of the hotel.
