A casino project that's being backed by the Lac du Flambeau
Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin avoided foreclosure for the third time, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
The tribe owns a 28.5 percent stake in Grand Soleil LLC Plans initially called for a riverboat casino but the boat was recently sold at a loss of millions of dollars.
The partnership is now pursuing a land-based casino. The $100 million hotel portion of the project avoided foreclosure after new financing was secured.
