The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is seeking partners to complete three big gaming projects.
The tribe needs to finish a hotel at Mohegan Sun on the reservation and a hotel at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania. The tribe also wants to build a casino in western Massachusetts.
"We are committed to reduce our overall debt, and one way to do that is to enhance the overall property and revenues without putting a lot of our own capital in," Chairwoman Lynn Malerba told The New London Day of the tribe's new strategy.
The tribe has seen a decline in revenues at Mohegan Sun, prompting a series of cost reduction measures. The tribe has reduced money for government services but apparently hasn't cut per capita payments, according to Malerba.
