The San Pasqual Band of Mission
Indians of California is finally operating 2,000 slot machines at the Valley View Casino.
The tribe signed a Class III gaming compact in 1999 that promised up to 2,000 slot machines. But the California Gambling Control
Commission imposed a statewide cap that limited the tribe to about 1,600 machines.
The San Pasqual Band added more machines after tribes won a lawsuit that forced the state to lift the cap and follow the 1999 compact.
