Connecticut's two federally-recognized tribes reported double-digit declines in slot machine revenue for the month of August.
Compared to August 2008, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation saw a 13.3 percent decline at Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
The Mohegan Tribe saw a 11 percent decline at Mohegan Sun.
“We're eager to see what September brings," Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority CEO Mitchell Etess told The New London Day.
"We are pleased that our occupancy rates continue to be at or near 100 percent," Michael Speller, president of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises, said in a statement to the paper.
