The city council in Richmond, California passed a resolution that questions the environmental impact report for the casino proposed by the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians.
The city hasn't officially opposed the tribe's land-into-trust application. But the resolution calls the report inadequate because it fails to address the economic impact on another casino, the one owned by the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians.
San Pablo Lytton Casino is located in San Pablo. Gaming revenues account for about $12 million of the city's $18.2 million general fund budget and the resolution warns of negative impacts from the Guidiville casino.
