The Seminole Tribe and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) are reportedly close to an agreement for a Class III gaming compact.
The tribe and Crist face an August 31 to reach a deal. Prior news reports highlighted the tribe's concerns with revenue-sharing and the lack of exclusivity for Class III games.
“My understanding is that it’s going pretty well,” Crist told WCTV of the talks.
The tribe has been offering slot machines and table games under a compact that was approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. A state court later said Crist overstepped his authority.
