The Catawba Nation of South Carolina plans to open a high-stakes bingo hall in December.
The tribe says the facility will create 200 jobs. Revenues will be used to fund tribal programs and future development.
The tribe is excluded from engaging in gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
The tribe's land claims settlement act allows the tribe to operate up to two bingo halls under state law.
