A non-Indian musician was arrested for allegedly trampling the U.S. flag during a performance at a Cherokee Nation casino last week.
Marion Gooding III performed with his band, Smunty Voje, at the tribe's casino in Catoosa last Thursday. He stomped and danced on the flag, according to Jon Ketcher, a Cherokee Nation marshal who is cross-deputized with Rogers County.
After being arrested by Ketcher, Gooding was held in a county jail but wasn't charged. County authorities are determining whether he can be charged under state law.
The casino in Catoosa is transitioning to the Hard Rock Casino Tulsa.
