Coeur d'Alene Tribe shares gaming revenues

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho shared $1.8 million in gaming revenues with the state.

The tribal-state compact requires the tribe to distribute 5 percent of revenues with educational institutions. This year, 15 school districts, two universities and the Idaho Meth Project received money.

“This money not only represents the success of the Tribe’s Casino, but the vision of our elders who believed that gaming was a means to an end,” Chairman Chief Allan said in a press release. “I believe education is the key to success and economic prosperity for our people and the entire region.”

The tribe has shared $12 million with educational institutions since 2001.
