The debate continues over the proposed Tohono O'odham Nation off-reservation casino in Arizona.
The tribe says the $600 million casino will boost the economy and create thousands of jobs. But officials in Glendale are worried it will hurt their entertainment and business district.
The 134-acre casino site sits between Glendale and Peoria. The Glendale Chamber of Commerce opposes the project while the Peoria Chamber of Commerce supports it.
The regional office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs has recommended the land be placed in trust. A final decision will be made by new assistant secretary Larry EchoHawk in Washington, D.C.
